Hey friend!
Today's Topic: What really is faith and what happens when God doesn’t come through the way we expected?
What do you do when God doesn't come through the way you expected? Does your faith get shaken? Now hear me out, we each have a relationship with God and depending on what we have gone through a lot of times determines really how strong or weak faith we have developed in our God. Then there are times I know in my life even these last 6 months where I have been at a crossroads that I decide I am standing on the rock, Jesus Christ, I will not let this move my faith in Him. Sure it didn't work out or happen the way I thought God had promised but does that shake my core belief in who my creator is? You see, everyone of us has a foundation, and that foundation isn't really discovered until something major happens and then you are left with a choice. Stand on the rock or distance yourself from God.
In scripture, John the Baptist is a powerhouse, actually called by Jesus the greatest prophet to exist born from women... But then He goes on to say he who is LEAST in the kingdom is considered greater than John. How is that possible? I've been chewing on that and wondering God why is that. Well, I don't really know. But I know this and wanted to point out this scenario. Imagine you're John now, you're at the end of your ministry, your calling, your life, you've done all that you were called to for God, done a mighty fine job, now you are in desperate need of intervention, you are locked in jail, knowing that you might never get out and most likely be killed. Now remember, you did mighty things for Jesus, and maybe just maybe you're expecting Jesus to come through for you. But then He doesn't, John gets beheaded. WHERE IS YOUR FAITH. If you get to the end of your life and the promise is still not evident, would you still be founded on the rock Jesus Christ or would you say, "are you really the son of God"? God you didn't come through for me the way I needed. God you gave me this dream or this word and the natural is completely opposite. What is your foundation built on? Job 13:15, "though He slay me, yet I will trust in Him..." I assure you the testing is coming for us believers.
I hope and pray if one person would get this revelation that our faith isn't built on what God will do for us but solely in who Jesus IS, that He is our creator, our savior, our deliverer. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Hope this blesses someone.
"...the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." — James 1:2–4
I hope this encourages you!
