Encouragement from Ben #11 – The value in seasons and the life of faith

Hey friend!

Today's Topic: The value in seasons and the life of faith.

I write to you today out of a place of a season of not fully knowing what God is doing. I trust Him but many times and days what does that mean, you bank on the fact that God is good and whether or not the natural shows that doesn't change the truth right? In Job, it says you see the good end God had in store for Job. Even in suffering, even through the fight, God's intention for Job was goodness.

Every season has its purpose. Solomon, the wisest man in the Bible said to everything under the sun there is a time and a season. He understood that there were times of lack, times of plenty, times of sorrow, and times of rejoicing. Why does God come so close some days when other days it seems He is nowhere to be found? Does God love you more some days than others, or is that just life? A season or a moment in time where maybe He's requiring you to exercise your faith?

I'm realizing the life of faith, true faith, is one that always needs some type of miracle. Without needing a miracle or an act of God why would we need faith? I may have a gift of faith being developed in my life but to be honest I'm a systems guy, I want to figure it out and duplicate it. Walking in faith isn't always that easy, but what is easy — loving Jesus. When you choose to love Jesus, the focus comes off of you and your problems. Jesus said, "take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" — Matthew 11:29. Everyone that is saved knows the feeling of surrendering to Jesus and that "ease" of His yoke coming on you. The problem is life is constantly offering your old yoke back. Fix it yourself, figure it out, make it happen. Sure, God has allotted grace for each of us to run our race but shouldn't that grace enable us to keep the yoke of Jesus that is light. I believe so.

Regardless of the season you're in, however big or small of a miracle you may need, return to your first love — Jesus Christ. You could have all the faith in the world and move the mightiest of mountains but IF YOU HAVE NOT LOVE... YOU HAVE NOTHING — 1 Corinthians 13:2. Loving Jesus trumps your situation. If you feel like something is missing in your life, maybe you have left your first love, Jesus. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me." — Revelation 3:20

"...the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." — James 1:2–4
