Hey friend!

Today's Topic: Loving Jesus.

When you got saved, what did you feel? Hope? Peace? A feeling of being made NEW? I know for me when I truly had an encounter with Jesus it was something that nothing in this world could replicate. No amount of money, no success or material thing could replace.

Now what happens from when you get saved and you're entirely on fire and in love with Jesus to maybe where you are today... A little cold, don't really have that love that you first had when you got saved. Something called sin, a mistake, something that you did still after having been chosen by Jesus and made new, now your heart is cold and you don't know how to get back to loving Jesus.

Well I am here to tell you the story of Peter. He was what scripture shows as someone who had an encounter with Jesus. One of His closest disciples who clearly saw the revelation that Jesus was the Messiah. Jesus then gives Peter a prophetic promise telling him: "You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it!"

Then what happens, Satan comes to destroy Peter, by denouncing the one whom He KNOWS is the Christ. But oh the Love of Jesus. How even through Peter messing up in the worst way he could probably imagine at that time, Jesus comes after the cross to him and asks Him the most important question. You ready? Jesus asks Peter — DO YOU LOVE ME? Now Jesus knew Peter did, but what I believe is He wanted Peter to really know himself — look man you love Jesus, stop focusing on the past, that is buried and gone, now do what I ask you to do and realize that you love me!

You see the key to freedom is loving Jesus. The more you love Jesus the more you want to obey Him, the more you want to spend less time in the worldly things, the more transformed you are! If your focus is only on doing the task and not on the one who created you, you will burn out, but if you set your focus on loving the Lord doing the task will become second nature.

Regardless of the season you're in, however big or small of a miracle you may need, return to your first love — Jesus Christ. You could have all the faith in the world and move the mightiest of mountains but IF YOU HAVE NOT LOVE... YOU HAVE NOTHING — 1 Corinthians 13:2. Loving Jesus trumps your situation. If you feel like something is missing in your life, maybe you have left your first love, Jesus. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me." — Revelation 3:20

I hope this encourages you! Press on!

Have a great day,
