Encouragement from Ben #5 – Holding onto the Light of Promise

Today's Topic: Holding onto the light of Promise!

Some people love cloudy rainy days; I'm not that guy. I love sunshine. You ever get depressed when it's gloomy outside? You know that feeling of sadness on cloudy days is a real physiological response? I'm here to tell you today there is a revelation in creation that parallels to the Kingdom of Jesus!

Here's the truth, the sun shines just as bright and just as intense every single day. Yet here's the issue, clouds roll in and block our view, they cause us to be in darkness rather than be shown the light which releases the serotonin chemicals in your brain making you feel happy.

The same thing happens spiritually with our walk with Christ. The promise is that you will have a bright future, that you will bear much fruit, that you will overcome etc... What happens is the enemy comes and tries to put doubt or discouragement, or even fear, and all these things are like clouds. Thick clouds that cause you not to be able to see the light of Jesus and His word!

This is where faith comes into play. You see, faith is substance of something you can't see. Now imagine this, you have a promise of God of a "bright future" (put your promise here)... Now imagine it's the sun, it's there shining brighter than ever, it hasn't left you but because YOU CAN'T SEE IT, the enemy wants you to waiver. YOU MUST NOT WAIVER.

Now I want you to shift your focus and get back in anticipation and excitement, because remember without faith it's impossible to please God. Once you grasp this and fully realize that everything of the Kingdom of God takes faith to apprehend you stop letting the enemy get you discouraged, defeated, in fear, etc. and you start rejoicing in the midst of darkness, in the midst of the storm, because you KNOW ultimately that Jesus won't let you sink. That if you cling to Him, the author and finisher of your faith, the one who spoke the world into being, is right there beside you saying... Just believe, and you will see the Glory of God...

"...the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." — James 1:2–4
