Hey friend!
Today's Topic: Is your faith in God being tested?
There are days I feel Christ is so close to me, then there are days when I can't feel Christ at all. Those are the days and weeks that faith is required. You see faith isn't needed when you have that feeling or that tangible thing to hold onto. Faith is when you can't seem to be getting anywhere in your prayers and you feel like God is nowhere near you. But that very instance is when I choose to believe Jesus is closest to me. You see the Bible says Jesus is a friend that will stick closer than a brother. He is the only one that will never leave you nor forsake you. He loves you and all He requires from you is faith.
You see the Gospel is entirely received through faith.
1 Timothy 6:12 says "Fight the good fight of faith..." That's the key! The fight is FAITH, its uncompromising belief. Jesus said oh if you just would believe you would see the Glory of God, (John 11:40). You see friend, me and you may have different stories, different situations, different upbringings, but one thing I know is the same for all of us... is we are both tested. Maybe you're that person that you love the Lord but really for a season now have not felt His presence and really feel like God, are you even near me. I want to encourage you to have faith now. For Jesus knows everything about you. It says in scripture he knows how many hairs are on your head. He created you. Don't let a feeling trump your ability to believe.
And this doesn't just have to do with believing God is near. Take this to your work, your family, your health. Can you believe something God spoke even when it's been years of trial? I'll give you a short testimony.
We have been believing for a certain account for now over 4+ years. Year after year we have had trial and setback and every time it seemed like it was going to work out something would happen and it would fall through. Well, I have got to the place in the last year that I can say I throw out to God weekly now, "I believe what you spoke over this company, now naturally I don't know how to make it happen, but I just believe you will do it." Happy to say that one account I have believed for just came to pass last week. All Glory to Jesus for opening the door and giving us favor.
"...the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." — James 1:2–4
I hope this encourages you! Press on!
